Hi y’all! I’m hannah harrod, a potter, photographer and community organizer based in Portland, OR.

I grew up in the Hardscrabble Valley in rural Oregon. I spent many of my free hours in the creek and the woods. On sunny days we would dig soil out of the creek bank, a rich orange heavy with clay. My grammie showed me how to form little bowls and we’d leave them to dry in the sun.

I took my first ceramics class 15 years ago and it sparked something significant, although I didn’t begin a regular clay practice until 2018. I began working as a professional photographer in 2014 to put myself through grad school. Now as a community organizer, my creative practices are part of a commitment in every part of my life to building new ways and new worlds.

Over the years, pottery and photography have come in and out of my life in various forms. In 2019, I decided to do this thing for real and started this little business. It brings me so much joy.
